September 16, 2018 -> Daytime Visit to the London Eye

Okay so Crazy Rich Asians was a hilarious movie! I haven’t had a movie make me laugh like that in a while. Also turns out... the UK doesn’t have buttered popcorn. Your choice is sweet, salty, or sweet and salty. (Sweet essentially is kettle corn) Plus for extra you can add toppings of mini Oreo's, Rolos, pretzels, or M&Ms. (I went with the sweet popcorn with mini Oreo's)

Then by surprise today, while I was at the gym, I got a notification that I got off the wait list for the London Eye just about an hour beforehand! So of course I had to go!

Afterwards, I went on those swings things that spin really high in the air. I don’t know what it’s called, sorry. But there is a video attached + a picture of Aruni and I before we took flight.

Afterwards my friends and I stopped by the Southbank Centre Market. (Now I was gonna eat healthy the rest of this week due to the amount of diabetes a consumed yesterday, but I couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this)

First, I bought a sugar coated, Nutella filled donut from galeta. I was going to stop there, BUT I saw the chocofruit stand! There I got a white, milk, and dark chocolate covered banana with chocolate bits, hazelnut, and marshmallows. (This was actually saved as one of the places I wanted to try and I bought it by accident ... can check that off the list now)

This weekend was AMAZING!!! I’m really starting to love London now.... off to study for my Chem test

September 15, 2018 -> Harry Potter Locations

Today I took a Harry Potter walking tour starting at Leicester Square and saw some of the spots where the filming took place.

Along the way we stopped by Borough Market. There I bought a gooey fudgey brownie and a vanilla chocolate & cookies gelato cone.

Later tonight I will being going to a movie theater in Covent Gardens to see the new movie, Crazy Rich Asians. (The theater is one of those fancy theaters with reclining chairs!)

September 9, 2018 -> Wales Trek … Part 3 -> Westonbirt National Arboretum

Had a nice healthy breakfast... but just to give you an idea of what English breakfast looks like, I took a few pictures of the buffet. Eek

Today we visited the Westonbirt National Arboretum. Very pretty trails. It was calming to walk along the paths, take in the scenery, and breathe the fresh air of open fields before having to go back to the stuffy London city.

(Just had to add in my dinner here... it’s a spicy red bean sweet potato stew... very good)

Lastly I have a few candy bars pictured here that I got on sale... no worries, that much will last me a week. Got the Lindt milk chocolate orange because of my new obsession for that flavor combo. Then I got a caramel and a peanut butter kit kat. Can’t wait to try them!

September 8, 2018 -> Wales Trek … Part 2 -> Cardiff Castle

Wales Trek - Part 2 -> Cardiff Castle

Started off the day with breakfast. We were served the proper English breakfast, but as you can see I only went to the extent of scrambled eggs and a hash brown... no fatty meats or beans for me 😬 I did enjoy the croissants though! Sunflower butter is very good too.

First stop was the St. Fagans National Museum, which to our surprise was mostly outdoors! They also had a food festival at the time, so we got to sample a few different kinds of cakes, breads, flapjacks, and jams.

The place was very beautiful, had nice gardens, and definitely a more countryside, laid back type of feeling.

Our next stop was at Cardiff Castle. The inside of the Castle was gorgeous. The ceilings and windows were breathtaking.

Last stop before going back to the hotel, I stopped by the Cardiff market and bought a Welsh cake and sugar coated jam donut. (Only 50p each!) and they were both soooo tasty. Definitely worth it.

Last, once at the hotel, I got myself a cup of tea and a specialty cake. I’ve been eyeing it since I came here. I tried a sticky orange and chocolate frosting cake 🤤 and omgggg it was heaven. It was like a giant Jaffa cake. They’re really into orange and chocolate combos here and I love it! Great way to end the day and relax for the night.

September 7, 2018 -> Wales Trek … Part 1-> Lacock Abbey

Wales Trek - Part 1

Entire Northeastern students were required to attend the Wales trip.

Rumors are other students, from other schools, are moving into the Chapter House.

On our way to Wales we stopped by Lacock Abbey (where some filming of Harry Potter took place) on our way to Cardiff, Wales.

I really loved the Abbey House, it was super nice to get out of the city.

I am definitely mire if a countryside, vintage style kind of girl.

As you can see I was able to get several lovely pictures.

While at the Abbey House I got a lemon shortbread cookie with chocolate in the center at the bakery.

Then I got a chocolate ice cream cone with chocolate chunks and chocolate swirl.

Later at night, once we were in Cardiff, we walked out to the harbor.

Turns out there’s really not much to do at night in Cardiff... pretty quiet area.

September 5, 2018b -> Tate vs Tate’s

When I heard we were going to Tate's I got VERY excited.

Then we arrived at our destination and I found out that we were not going to a cookie factory, but an art museum!  But not just any museum but "The home of British art from 1500 to the present day".  Still disappointed; I was looking forward to some excellent cookies.  Apparently Tate's is in Southampton, NY USA not Southampton,UK.  Do you think I can write the required 500 word essay comparing Tate's cookies to Tate Britain Museum?

September 5, 2018a -> Yet Another Miss at a TKD School

I can't believe that it has been 3 weeks without TKD.

Longest stretch for no TKD for me ever, even with broken bones.

It is a good thing that the gym at my residence hall (dorm) has ellipticals, weights and tread mills.

I visited a potential TKD school in London today along with a representative from Northeastern.

As you can see by the pictures, the neighborhood looks a little sketchy.

The picture of the building with the plywood on the window is the actual studio.

The interior is an old gym they are converting into a TKD Studio.  Looks like a lot of room.

Too far and most definitely in a section of town I don't want to travel by myself.

There is one more school closer to where some of my classes are held.

I hope to check this out on Monday.

I will be in Wales this weekend.

Day 20, September 3, 2018 -> Cracked iPhone Display

Bad Day Today!

Took a fall running back from the Tube to grab my Metro Card ripping my pants, getting two bloody knees, and cracking my cell phone screen.  🙁

Found a certified Apple Care facility and got my screen  replaced the same day.  🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thank God for Apple Care!
